Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Jay Finocchiaro is a director / writer with a background in film and the performing arts.

At the young age of seven, Jay was signed to a talent agent and by the age of seventeen had performed in thirty countries.  ​

He studied theatre, acting and education for four years at the University of New South Wales in Australia and obtained a Master of Arts in film from De Montfort University in the UK. 

In addition to university, Jay's actor training includes NIDA and the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. His film training includes Raindance Film School, AFTRS and masterclass industry sessions led by the likes of Peter Brook and Jean-Luc Goddard.

With over 25 years of professional experience in the entertainment industry, Jay has worked on projects featuring many stars ranging from Arnold Schwarzenegger to Meryl Streep, music artists Prince to One Direction, cinematographers Andrew Lesnie to Michael Ballhaus, screen legends Frank Sinatra to Elizabeth Taylor, directors Steven Spielberg to Baz Luhrmann, public profiles Cindy Crawford to Oprah Winfrey, conductors Simone Young to Simon Rattle and composers Ennio Morricone to Carole King.

Jay has taught at Sydney Film School, Identity School of Acting, Dublin School of Acting and organised workshops at the Cockpit Theatre in London, SAG-AFTRA Foundation Centre in Los Angeles and with cinematographer Andrew Lesnie and film director Richard Donner.
